University of La Verne’s Master of Science in Child and Adolescent Development program prepares elementary and secondary education teachers and other professionals to increase their understanding of the physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development of young children or adolescents. Our students develop capabilities to assume leadership roles in all facets of the child development field. Each course in the master’s program in child and adolescent development is offered both on campus and online. Both delivery modes are identical in content and rigor and are offered on the semester schedule. Students in the program have the option of taking courses on campus, online, or a combination of the two. The MS in Child and Adolescent Development consists of 33 units. Students select a concentration in early childhood or adolescence and complete a culminating activity. Courses are offered in late afternoons and evenings to accommodate the schedules of working students. The MS in Child and Adolescent Development can be applied to a wide variety of jobs. Current educators in elementary school or middle and high school can use the program to enhance their skills and knowledge to become more effective in the classroom. The program also qualifies graduates to teach child or adolescent development courses at the community college level.

Entry requirements for 拉文大學

An undergraduate GPA of 2.75 or above with a GPA of 3.0 or above in the last 60 semester hours and in Early Childhood or Childhood Development courses.
A statement of purpose that includes a description of work experience related to young children, a clear statement of short term and long term profes- sional goals, a description of why this particular M.S. is wanted, and a statement about what the student expects to do professionally after receiving the degree.
An interview with the program chair.
A writing assessment with the program chair.
TOEFL of 550 PBT, 213 CBT, or 80 iBt. IELTS minimum score of 6.5.

English language requirements
