Our research in geomorphology spans soil erosion, hillslope and river sediment flux, peatland processes and 3D landscape evolution modelling. We predominantly work in upland environments in the UK and arctic/alpine river catchments worldwide. Upland and alpine environments are vulnerable to climate change and under pressure from intensive human activity, such as land management practices and water resource management. However, these environments also offer important ecosystems services and can be impacted by severe natural hazards. They are a target environment for natural flood management practices.

Entry requirements for 里茲大學
The minimum entry requirements for PhD study is 2.1 honours degree, or equivalent, in geography or a related subject however a lower undergraduate degree can be supplemented by a relevant Masters degree. IELTS: 6.0 overall with at least 5.5 in all components. TOEFL IBT (Internet-based TOEFL): 87 with a minimum score of 20 in listening and reading, 21 in writing and 22 in speaking.
