Master of Civil Engineering - Structural Engineering

Graduate study and research in structural engineering, mechanics and materials has an emphasis on analyzing and solving engineering structural problems through a combination of experimental, numerical, and analytical models. The program has seven full-time faculty in structural engineering, one emeritus faculty member, and additional faculty in related fields (materials, geoengineering). The department offers Master of Engineering (M.E.) programs in Civil Engineering and Geological Engineering. These programs emphasize engineering design and are intended for practicing engineers who wish to obtain an advanced professional degree on a part-time basis. The M.E. is considered a terminal degree. Students who intend to proceed directly to the Ph.D. program, or who think that they may later wish to pursue a Ph.D. degree, should apply for the M.S. program.

Entry requirements for 明尼蘇達大學
The preferred undergraduate GPA for admittance to the program is 3.00.
An ABET-accredited, four-year bachelor's degree in engineering is required for admission.
International applicants must submit score(s) from one of the following tests:
TOEFL
Internet Based - Total Score: 79
Internet Based - Writing Score: 21
Internet Based - Reading Score: 19
IELTS - 6.5 total score (Writing subscore of 6.5 and Reading subscore of 6.5) (Test date within 2 years of program start)
Total Paper Based Test - 550
GRE General Test scores are required for all applicants. The GRE scores are one important tool that the admissions committee uses in evaluating your application, all scores will be considered. Average GRE scores of admitted students have been as follows.
Verbal: 153
Quantitative: 161
Analytical Writing: 4
