This program is ideal for individuals who already hold a bachelor's degree and are interested in in becoming certified as a teacher. This developmentally-sequenced program is designed to help students gain foundational knowledge, understand their discipline and classroom practices, plan instruction and assessment, and demonstrate effective teaching. It is rooted in a deep commitment to equity, social justice, and PK-12 public education. Cohort-based program designed for those already holding a bachelor?s degree and interested in becoming certified as a teacher
Fulfills all the requirements for Missouri teacher certification for Middle School (grades 5-9), High School (grades 9-12), or K-12 Education, Art, French, Spanish, German
All students complete 41 credit hours common across certification areas
Some students also complete additional 3-6 credit hours, depending on intended area of certification, specific to their grade level and content
Certification Areas
High school teacher (Grades 9-12): English, Mathematics, Science (Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Physics), or Social Science
Middle school teacher (Grades 5-9): Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, or Social Science
Foreign Language and Art Certifications (Grades K-12): Art, French, German, or Spanish

Entry requirements for 密蘇里大學堪薩斯分校

Undergraduate degree from an accredited university. A minimum grade of C in all content courses with an overall content area GPA of 3.0. Transcripts which document completion of all Missouri content area certification requirements. Two letters of recommendation that address the candidate’s potential to be an educator. Candidate narrative statement describing the intentions and purposes for becoming a K-12, middle, or high school teacher in a high-need school district. Completion of the Missouri Content Area Assessments (MoCA). This assessment must be passed by the end of the first semester of the program. Applicants from countries in which English might be one of the official languages, but is not necessarily the first language of the majority of the population, must attain a minimum composite score of either 213 (CBT) or 80 (iBT) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or a score of 6.0 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) to be considered for admission.
