Bachelor of Arts in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems (Honors)

Sustainable agriculture and food systems is a broad field integrating the natural sciences, social sciences, and business skills, plus much more. Sustainable agriculture and food systems are key to solving many of the major challenges facing the world, such as producing food to meet the needs of an ever-growing populations while conserving land, water, and other natural resources. An understanding of these challenges and potential solutions can enhance any career.
The Honors Program provides an enhanced academic experience for intellectually motivated students. Students may undertake the Honors in Major for Sustainable Agriculture & Food Systems (SAFS) alone, or combine the Honors in Major with the University Honors to complete the University Honors in Major for SAFS. University Honors is usually completed during the freshman and sophomore years, while the Honors in Major portion is usually completed during the junior and senior years.
