Students may earn both a Master of Social Work degree (from UNC-Chapel Hill) and a Master of Divinity degree (from Duke University in Durham, N.C.) through this dual-degree program, which requires four continuous years of full-time study (eight semesters).
Most students begin their coursework at Duke for the first two years. They attend classes at UNC-Chapel Hill during the third year and complete coursework at both universities during their final year. This dual-degree program also includes four field education placements — two at Duke (including a congregational setting) and two at UNC-Chapel Hill.

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent educational credential from another country
Separate applications to Duke Divinity School and UNC-Chapel Hill School of Social Work. Acceptance into one of program does not guarantee acceptance into the other.

Recent scores from the Graduate Record Examination
Have a minimum total score of 575 on the written version of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The test must have been taken within the last two years.
Or minimum of 233 on the computer-based test
Or a minimum of 90 on the Internet-based TOEFL with a minimum of 22 on each section.
