This certificate signals to potential employers that the awardee has the knowledge, skills, and technical ability to convey science in a diversity of written forms to an array of audiences, including non-scientists.

Entry requirements for 羅德島大學
A bachelor?s degree from an accredited college or university. International students are required to have an overall TOEFL score of 80 or more AND meet the minimum in each individual area: Reading 20, Writing 22, Listening 17, Speaking 17.
Application for admission is completed electronically. Prospective graduate students will need to provide: (1) college transcripts certifying successful completion of a bachelor?s degree, (2) two letters of recommendation from peers, mentors, or colleagues attesting to your ability to complete graduate-level coursework, and (3) a personal written statement explaining why you are seeking a graduate certificate in science writing and rhetoric. Completion of the Graduate Record Exam is not required.
An overall score of 80 or above, Minimum scores in the following areas: Reading: 20, Writing: 22, Listening: 17, Speaking: 17 (the suggested minimum speaking score for international teaching assistants is 23). The minimum score on the Paper-based TOEFL is 550. IELTS: Required minimum score of 6.5.
