The MSc Maritime Engineering Science is designed for graduates, or those similarly qualified, with an engineering, scientific or mathematical background, who desire to pursue a career in maritime sector. Students can choose from five themes, which aim to provide a wide range of specialist areas within the broad field of maritime engineering science. Our Maritime Engineering Science masters covers the core subjects and in-depth knowledge of Maritime Engineering Science for both design and analysis of marine craft and structures within the marine environment. This master’s covers the core subjects of Maritime Engineering Science for both the design and analysis of marine craft and structures within the marine environment. You can choose from five themes. Each covers a broad context alongside an in-depth specialisation of your choice. This course is designed for graduates or professionals with an engineering, scientific or mathematical background, who want to pursue a career in the maritime sector. Specialist knowledge of the discipline isn’t essential, as we will provide you with an introductory module to the fundamentals of ship science.

如何申請
Entry requirements for 南安普敦大學
Honours Degree
2:1 honours degree (or an equivalent standard in other qualifications approved by the University) or above in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Ship Science, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, General Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or Mathematics. We may also consider applicants with undergraduate degrees in Oceanography or Architecture, or applicants from Marine Academies - please contact us before applying for more information.
Equivalent Qualifications
Relevant employment experience would be considered if a candidate does not meet the formal qualifications requirements. We are always happy to receive applications from candidates with an equivalent standard in other qualifications approved by the University. If you are unsure about our entry criteria, please contact our admissions staff who would be happy to provide advice in advance of your application.
English Language requirements
All applicants must demonstrate they possess at least a minimum standard of English language proficiency:
Band B, IELTS 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in all components.
