Working in the field of civil engineering involves design and construction of systems that enhance the quality of life and improve the environment. If you want to play an active role in the development and rejuvenation of our national infrastructure, the Master of Science in Engineering - Civil Engineering, designed with industry input, is a great step. Whether you seek to move-up in your current company, pursue research or change your path entirely, Western will help you get there.
Our graduate program revolves around construction engineering and management, structural engineering and transportation engineering, and allows students to earn the degree on a full-time or part-time basis with a design, technical-management or research orientation.
Students must successfully complete at least thirty-six credit hours of graduate coursework including at least three courses in each of two area of civil engineering and three courses developing business management and engineering management skills. At least two CCE courses used for the degree program must be graduate design courses. Further, students must successfully complete a final comprehensive written and/or oral examination that addresses the student’s undergraduate and graduate education. The final examination will be coordinated by the student’s graduate academic advisor. This degree option is intended primarily for students in practice who want to enhance their technical skills and to develop management skills.

Entry requirements for 西密西根大學
Students entering the proposed masters degree program are expected to have a background equivalent to that of a student graduating from the departments undergraduate civil and construction engineering degree programs or to obtain such background through specified prerequisite coursework
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, indicated on an official transcript. Exceptions may be granted to students from other institutions that have signed agreements through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
An official transcript from the institution from which you received your bachelor degree is required, as well as a transcript from institution(s) where any graduate level courses or degrees have been taken/completed. Sealed transcripts are considered official if printed on date is within the previous 90 days. Applicants are not required to submit an official transcript of courses taken/completed at WMU. Departments may request additional course information/transcripts as necessary. Please check the requirements listed for your chosen program at wmich.edu/grad/apply
An overall grade point average of at least 3.0 in the last two years of undergraduate work.
Evidence of having met any additional admission requirements stipulated by the individual degree program.
Acceptance by the academic unit offering the master’s program.
Test of English as a Foreign Language TOEFL 80 iBT graduate.
TOEFL Essential 8 Graduate.
International English Language Testing System IELTS Academic - 6.5 graduate.
Pearson Test of English Academic Module PTE - 54 graduate.
