The University of Huddersfield is eager to promote doctoral research in Shakespeare Studies. We are happy to offer a full fee waiver, plus £ 5,000 yearly stipend, to a promising candidate who can demonstrate an innovative and contemporary approach to Shakespearean scholarship. PhD Proposals are welcome on any aspect of Shakespearean drama, although special consideration will be given to projects informed by ecocriticism and the environmental humanities, or which make use of the University's recently acquired archives of the renowned Shakespearean actor Patrick Stewart. The recipient will be expected to reside within commuting distance of Huddersfield and play an active role in the life of the subject area. This may include teaching of undergraduate seminars and some light research-related administrative duties. Training and support will be provided.
