Overview
Loyalist College in Toronto is a small institution with a big impact. Founded in 1967, and with more than fifty years of service to the local community and region, the college is a powerhouse in the production of work-ready graduates and field of applied research.
Located in Belleville, Ontario, Loyalist College takes pride in the success of its industry-informed curriculum and superb academic facilities, which teach students the skills needed to make an impact in professional fields like biosciences, health, business and media.
The college offers an impressive portfolio of more than 70 post-secondary courses, available in a variety of study modes, ranging from general education certificates and apprenticeships to college transfer programmes, all the way up to continued professional development (CPD) courses.
There are around 3,000 full-time students enrolled at the college, with a further 12,000 attending on a part-time basis and even more studying online via the college's distance learning network. Full-time student benefit from small classes, and plenty of contact time with tutors, as well as access to state-of-the-art facilities which are continually being updated and enhanced.
The college prides itself on its inclusivity and community-driven learning environment, supporting a large international population of more than 800 full-time students.
Loyalist College fosters a global network of partnerships with academic institutions and professional organisations, and is currently ranked within the top 50 research colleges in Canada. The college is also ranked No. 4 in Canada for research income growth (Research Infosource Inc.) and offers many experiential hands-on learning opportunities through its applied research initiatives and community partner collaborations.
