At TAFE Queensland, the programmes offered are designed to ensure that the students receive job-focused, practical training in consultation with employers. This ensures that the students' education is aligned with the most modern industry standards and that its students can graduate job-ready.

TAFE Queensland's qualifications are renowned across Australia and respected worldwide. TAFE Queensland provides several study options across diploma, certificate, advanced diploma, associate degree as well as bachelor's degree level qualifications.

Training is provided to students through various modes. Most of the courses are delivered through one-on-one teaching with lessons which are held in modern classrooms, workshops and laboratories.

These programmes are taught by teachers who are experienced and passionate about sharing their knowledge of the industry with future professionals.

TAFE Queensland ensures that international students are provided with the practical skills required to do extraordinary things.

TAFE Queensland covers many areas which span from the far extent of north to south-east edge of the state. TAFE Queensland's locations in metropolitan, regional, as well as coastal areas indicate that students can choose a study destination that suits them best.

Students who pursue their education at TAFE Queensland, will benefit from the hands-on experience they receive in modern laboratories, classrooms, and workshops which use state-of-the-art facilities, systems and materials utilized in the industry.

There are more than 180 courses available across 22 areas of study for students to choose from.

Its courses are assessed in various ways. Throughout their course, students may complete a variety of tasks including class work, assignments, practical components and project work. They may be assessed using a combination of these tasks, continuous assessment and examinations. Assessment may be based on competency, marks and grades, or a combination of both.

International students require a minimum level of English language proficiency, which is necessary to study at TAFE Queensland.

International students whose first language is not English must obtain the following minimum scores:

Certificate III, Certificate IV, Diploma and Advanced Diploma

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic: Overall score of 5.5 (with no score lesser than 5.0).

Undergraduate programmes

IELTS Academic: Overall score of 6.5 (with no score lesser than 6.0).

Many programmes as well as certain nationalities may need higher IELTS (Academic) when compared with the minimum score of IELTS 5.5 and/or comprise of specific sub-score requirements.

Applicants must at least meet one of the several English language entry requirements.

Students who don't meet any listed requirements may enrol in one of the intensive English language training programmes prior to pursuing their degree programme.

Students who wish to study at TAFE Queensland must first check the necessary documents as well as evidence they need to provide.

They must then check:

• Key dates
• Statement of purpose

Students must prepare their certified supporting documents. They must also submit their application and supporting documents through the online application portal, or they must submit their application through one of TAFE Queensland's registered agents.

Once the students receive their letter of offer, they must accept and pay for their offer. Students must then receive their Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE - required for lodging a visa application).

They must then apply for their visa. Applicants for an international student visa, who are under 18 years of age will be accepted by TAFE Queensland if they establish with certainty that they will be accompanied by a legal custodian, parent, or a suitable relative whose age is 21 years or above.

The International Student Support Office can help students to study in Australia and settle into life at TAFE Queensland by:

• Offering information about both living in Queensland as well as advising on transport, banking and accommodation options
• Helping students to get in touch with multicultural services and community support to enable them to adjust culturally and deal with homesickness
• Providing support and information with 'Overseas Student Health Cover' for students' health concerns
• Offering advice about the procedures at TAFE Queensland
• Helping students to apply for student identification (ID) cards as well as internet access
• Referrals to learning support which will help them with academic difficulties
• Offering information about the facilities at TAFE Queensland
