Applicants must be willing and able to meet the following award conditions if successful: 1. To write a Thank You letter addressed to the Award Donor 2. To give permission for elements of your Thank You letter to be quoted for promotional materials 3. To meet with the Donor at the Donors request 4. To take part in promotional activity relating to this Award 5. To write an end of year update on your progress at Abertay University

Study level you are applying for: Undergraduate

Baillie Gifford also supports scholarships for Mental Health Nursing within the School of Applied Science at Abertay University. Applications will be selected based on how well the applicant demonstrates how the scholarship can help them achieve their ambitions to work in a software engineering-related career. Other important factors include: Students who are first in their family to attend university have overcome challenging circumstances are from a low-income background and/or are at risk of leaving their studies will benefit from the scholarship. Seven Baillie Gifford STEM scholarships are available.

To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

Be commencing year 1 in one of the following BSc (Hons) software engineering degrees in September

BSc (Hons) Computer Games Application Development
BSc (Hons) Computer Games Technology
BSc (Hons) Computing
BSc (Hons) Ethical Hacking

Are Female
Be able to demonstrate a financial need for support in the application form
Be able to demonstrate a strong intent to have a career in software engineering when they graduate
Be willing to meet the award conditions

The Award will be paid in two instalments. First instalment: December Second instalment: April 2024
