Canada is open to international students!

As the borders of popular study destinations like Australia and New Zealand remain closed to international students, you might be thinking: “Is it still possible for me to travel to study abroad?”

The short and resounding answer is: absolutely! One country that’s open to Filipino students is Canada.

As of August 20, 2021, fully vaccinated international students will be allowed to enter Canada for discretionary travel. Specifically, foreign nationals including new and returning international students can fly to the country and commence their studies as long as they meet the following conditions:

their school is included in the designated learning institutions (DLI) list
have no signs or symptoms of COVID-19
have received the full series of an accepted COVID-19 vaccine or a combination of accepted vaccines*:
- Pfizer-BioNTech
- Moderna
- AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD
- Janssen/Johnson & Johnson

*These are the accepted COVID-19 vaccines as of August 20, 2021. For the latest list, please check this website.

**If you received your vaccines outside Canada, it’s still accepted but proof of vaccination must be uploaded digitally in ArriveCAN and must only be in French or English, or certified translation into French or English.

have received your last dose at least 14 days prior to the day you enter Canada
meet all other entry requirements mandated by the Canadian government.
