Massey University College (MUC) is a well renowned preparatory college located in Massey University's Albany Campus on the outskirts of Auckland, New Zealand's most populous city. The college offers a selection of educational pathway courses which prepare students for enrolment into a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at Massey University, one of the country's largest and most prestigious universities. Programs

Students have a wide range of pathway courses to choose from at Massey University College:

Foundation Certificate (International)

This course is available to any international student who has completed New Zealand Year 12 or equivalent and aims to prepare students for a successful transition into the first year of a wide choice of undergraduate degrees at Massey University.

Foundation Certificate (International - Accelerated)

This course is suitable for international students who have completed New Zealand Year 13 or equivalent. Graduates of this course are guaranteed admission to a selection of unrestricted undergraduate programmes at Massey University.

Diploma (Business)

This connecting qualification is available for international students who have completed New Zealand Year 13 or equivalent, and allows them to enrol into a range of undergraduate business programmes at Massey University.

Graduate Diploma (Management)

This bridging qualification is suitable for students who have completed the equivalent of New Zealand Diploma (Level 6) or above and allows them to transition into a Master of Management with a major in Management programme.

Graduate Diploma (Marketing)

This connecting course is suitable for students who have completed the equivalent of New Zealand Diploma (Level 6) or above, and will allow them to transition into a Master of Management with a major in Marketing programme.

English for Academic Purposes

This course offers students an IELTS-free route to entry into Massey University for those who meet the academic, but not English language requirements. EAP 1 and EAP 2 programmes are tailored for students with different entries of IELTS scores.

General English

This programme enhances core reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. Graduates gain the competency to communicate effectively in day-to-day situations as well as embarking on further academic study in New Zealand with confidence.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements

Prospective international students looking to enrol at Massey University College must meet the course-specific admission criteria, as defined by the college's academic board. Assessment is typically based on a combination of each candidate's individual subject grades with their total aggregated grade.

Massey University College welcomes applicants from all over the world, and due to the fact that various countries use different assessment systems, the college website publishes comparison list of country specific entry requirements for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

At MUC, courses are delivered in English, therefore international students must also meet a minimum English language proficient requirement for entry on their chosen pathway. These are typically determined either by IELTS test results, or another recognised English assessment system. Facilities

One of the major benefits of studying at Massey University College is the full and free access to Massey University facilities and services which students benefit from on a daily basis.

Firstly, students are able to use the university's on-site accommodation which places them right in the heart of campus life and makes their integration into the university community all the more immersive. They can use the university's state-of-the-art library, the Centre for Teaching and Learning for academic guidance and support, and the International Student Support (ISS) office for all issues relating to orientation, student visa renewals, insurance and welfare support.

For recreation and enrichment there is a first-rate sport and recreation centre, student lounge, numerous cafes and bars and over 200 clubs and special interest societies. These are great opportunities for students to try something new or develop an existing interest with like-minded individuals, often making lifelong friends in the process.

Enterprising students are also supported though the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre, while forward-thinking students can make use of the Massey Career Centre's career development services to start building the foundations of their future careers.

Student life

There is much to discover as a student at MUC, and as a member of the wider Massey University community. With a population of approximately 30,000 there is a rich and diverse environment of students from all corners of the world, and the campus provides plenty of facilities for recreation, participation and socialising.

The campus supports a huge network of sports clubs and teams, available to join at all levels from elite to recreational. There is also a vast ecosystem of more than 200 student-run clubs and societies including cultural clubs, language groups, social organisations, technology-based clubs, socio-political societies, creative societies covering film, music, art, theatre and much more.

Students living in Auckland enjoy free access to many of these organisations through membership of the Albany Student's Association (ASA), and the community offers a safe and welcoming platform for international students to participate.
