THE World ranking

Established in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1964 as a small college with some revolutionary ideas, Nova Southeastern University was originally named Nova University of Advanced Technology and chartered as a graduate institution in the physical and social sciences. In 1994, Nova University merged with Southeastern University of Health Sciences to form Nova Southeastern University.

Classified as a research university with “high research activity” by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, NSU is 1 of only 50 universities nationwide to also be awarded Carnegie’s Community Engagement Classification, and is also the largest private, not-for-profit institution in the United States that meets the U.S. Department of Education's criteria as a Hispanic-serving Institution.

NSU offers a vast number of undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees through its 16 colleges in the fields of Business, Dental Medicine, Education, Computing and Engineering, Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, Law, Medicine, Nursing, Optometry, Pharmacy, Psychology, and Natural Sciences and Oceanography. The university offers more than 150 degrees at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels. Undergraduate students can choose from more than 50 majors and 50 minors in the arts and sciences, business, education and nursing.

The Division of Student Affairs, which includes the Office of Campus Life and Student Engagement, and Student Leadership and Civic Engagement, is committed to fostering a campus community where everyone can find their place and have fun. With more than 100 on-campus clubs and organizations, a powerful student government, socially active Greek life with many fraternities and sororities, pre-professional societies, and intramural sports, it is perfect place to learn, grow and excel.

Nova Southeastern University takes center stage when it comes to supporting the arts. Whether students just want to sit and enjoy the cultural arts or be part of the show, NSU has several options for nurturing their creative spirit. From its rapidly growing curriculum in the performing and visual arts, to its on-campus theatres and art gallery, as well as its art museum in downtown Fort Lauderdale, they are dedicated to bringing world-class art to NSU and South Florida.

Situated just 10 minutes from Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport, and close to I-95, I-75, and Florida's Turnpike, it's not hard to get to NSU's 314-acre Fort Lauderdale, Davie Campus.
