The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus opened in September 2000 to become the first campus of a British University in Malaysia and one of the first anywhere in the world earning the distinction of the Queen's Award for Enterprise 2001 and the Queen's Award for Industry (International Trade) 2006. Having been in existence for 21 years now, it is committed to providing a comprehensive educational experience in a campus environment.

UNM’s community of students is around 5500 in number and they originate from 85 different countries across the world. Students are assisted by a network of support staff of 600 who ensure that the day-to-day operations at the university are carried out to the highest possible standards. The Malaysia Campus confers exactly the same degrees as those in the UK and all courses are taught in English.

The University provides excellent teaching, learning and research facilities including a well-equipped delivery, library, dedicated study areas and computers, language, and science and engineering laboratories and online lesson alongside virtual labs. At campus, students have access to a wide range of recreational facilities such as a purpose-built sports complex and a swimming pool to ensure that their physical well-being is catered to alongside their educational well-being.

A picturesque location spanning across 125 acres and overlooking green hills, the UNM campus was designed to mirror the attributes of University Park in the UK. It has a self-contained and self-sufficient neighbourhood village within a garden environment. Students wishing to go to Kuala Lumpur or the surrounding areas can do so by means of bus or rail, accessible via complimentary shuttle service departing from campus.

The University of Nottingham is constantly ranked in the top 100 of universities across the world (QS World University Rankings 2021) and offer courses from the foundation level right up to doctoral degrees. Through its specialist schools and departments under the Faculties of Arts and Social Sciences, and Engineering and Science, wide range of programmes are available to both undergraduate and postgraduate candidates.
