The University of Alabama in Huntsville is one of the nation's premier research universities, offering a challenging hands-on curriculum that ensures graduates are prepared to become tomorrow's leaders. UAH is a public national university located in Huntsville, Alabama, which Southern Living recently named one of the best college towns in the South.

The University offers nearly 90 degree programs of study at the undergraduate and graduate level, with colleges in Engineering, Education, Honors, Nursing, Science, Business, Arts, Humanities, & Social Sciences, Graduate School, and Professional & Continuing Studies. The small class sizes and low faculty-to-student ratio provides students with the opportunity to form strong, supportive relationships with professors and peers throughout their academic journey.

The robust academic presence is complemented by a vibrant campus life featuring nearly 200 student-run organizations, 13 fraternities and sororities, and 18 NCAA sports including the only Division I ice hockey team in the Southeast. Student Organizations are a vital part of the UAH community. A range of opportunities are available through Leadership Programs, Student Government Association, Sports and Recreation programs, and Fraternity and Sorority organizations.

The university’s 505-acre campus, which includes 17 high-tech research centers and labs responsible for USD 99 million in annual research expenditures, serves as the anchor tenant for the second-largest research park in the nation. It also maintains strong partnerships with federal agencies and commercial organizations that include the HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology, NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, the Missile Defense Agency, the DIA Missile and Space Intelligence Center, and the U.S. Army Materiel Command.

With its vibrant arts scene, an abundance of restaurants and food trucks, and a temperate climate that lends itself to outdoor recreation, the Rocket City is so much more than a small Southern town.
