The University of Law is one of the longest-established specialist providers of legal education in the UK. It also offers a wide range of professional courses including law, business, policing, criminology, psychology, computer science and education.

The university hosts campuses across the UK, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol, Guildford and Nottingham. It also has an international presence in Hong Kong, making it an international institution that focuses on widening higher education participation and making education accessible to all.

The University of Law also offer courses at the University of East Anglia, The University of Chester, The University of Exeter, The University of Reading, The University of Liverpool, The University of Sheffield, The University of Southampton, Newcastle University, and Royal Holloway, University of London.

The university has links to 94 out of the 100 top law firms in the country, including exclusive relationships with 60 of them. It also has a five-star rating from QS Stars, and is rated as the best university in England for teaching according to the 2021 National Student Survey.

The University of Law has expanded to offer much more than law. The university now provides specialist education in computer science, criminology, policing, education, business, and psychology - including specialist employability teams and academic coaches across these areas.

BPS Accreditation for PG Psychology students

The university is in partnership with the British Psychological Society, a representative body for psychologists and psychology in the United Kingdom, allowing all Psychology students can benefit from BPS membership.

New Partnership with Royal Holloway, London

The University of Law will deliver a range of postgraduate law courses at Royal Holloway, University of London as part of a newly created partnership starting in September 2023.

University Health Charter

The University of Law joined the Mental Health Charter Programme in October 2022 as part of its ongoing commitment to advance mental health awareness across all campuses and contribute to improved practice in the higher education sector more widely.

Work Placements

A range of the university's business programmes include the option to complete an optional industry work placement of up to 12 months which can be undertaken on the university's undergraduate business programmes.

This placement enables students to put into practice the academic learning alongside practical experience to enhance their future employability prospects. During the placement, students will be undertaking work as an employee of an organisation and will be treated as such.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements

For admission to The University of Law, international students need to satisfy several entry requirements.

English Language Requirements

Most students will need to prove English language proficiency before starting a course. This can be through an English language qualification, which will need to meet the university's minimum requirements. Students are strongly advised to check the eligibility requirements.

Those who have an academic qualification that is equivalent to a UK degree and was taught in a predominantly English-speaking country may not have to prove their English language proficiency.

Pre-Sessional English Language Programme

Students who need to improve their English language levels to qualify for a university course can study the 7–12-week pre-sessional English course.

Visas

Students must also check the visa they will need to study at The University of Law. The university provides support for receiving a Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS) if they require a Student Route visa.

To help students with their tuition fees and other expenses, the university has a number of scholarships in place which are open to all students. Awards specifically for international students include:

International Bursary

All non-UK students will be eligible to receive an annual non-repayable bursary to help support the cost of tuition fees. The bursary amount will depend on which course is studied.

Scholarships offered at The University of Law are given in accordance with academic achievements, extracurricular activities, or wider participation in the community. In order to receive a scholarship, applicants are required to have an offer from the university and to satisfy entry criteria for the scholarship being applied to.

All students will also be given access to MyULaw App which centralises all the information needed to study at the institution.

Outside of studies, international students can join one of the many clubs and societies on offer. Students can even set up new societies and clubs with full training and funding available.

Wherever students' study, they will find plenty of entertainment options around campuses, such as galleries, theatres, cinemas, shops, restaurants and more. The university's SwitchItUp initiative also provides the opportunity for some degree students to study in more than one city.
