Students acquire a solid foundation in art and design, and assess which area of the visual arts fits best with their individual proficiencies and interests. Effective research, problem-solving, and conceptualization skills are developed to prepare them for future studies in art and design. The breadth of hands-on studio art courses available provides an opportunity to learn new skills and techniques, while refining existing ones. Students develop a portfolio of their work, which will be valuable when applying to specialized art or design programs. Graduates are prepared to enter specific art and design diploma programs by developing the fundamental skills and knowledge that form the foundation for future studies. They are able to make informed choices about their future career path. Past graduates of the program have gone on to undertake a wide variety of art and design related studies.

Entry requirements for 喬治亞學院
Secondary or high school transcripts with proof of graduation, subjects taken, and grades received
Math and English credits are required at the Grade 12 level
OSSD or equivalent with
Grade 12 English (C or U)
You must meet ONE of the following requirements to be eligible for admission to these programs:
Secondary school applicants:
OSS curriculum: OSSD or equivalent, with Grade 12 English (C) or (U) (ENG4C, ENG4U)
Non-Secondary school applicants (19 years or older):
Any credit Communication course taken at Georgian College
Equivalent courses in English taken through secondary school or Independent Learning Centres (at the general, advanced, college or university level)
Academic and Career Entrance Certificate (ACE) program with communications
Mature student testing in English that meets the minimum standards for admission (available through most testing services)*
Ontario High School Equivalency Certificate (GED)
English, Literature or Communication credit courses from accredited colleges/universities
TOEFL Internet-based test (IBT) – 79
TOEFL Paper-based test – 550
IELTS Academic only – 6.0
Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) - 76
English language requirements
