Bachelor of Arts (Arts and Cultural Management)

Prepares students to enter many branches of the arts and creative industries. These could include working in theatre companies, arts venues, dance companies, exhibitions, galleries, concerts, festivals, cultural organisations, as well as technology creation and gaming companies.
Students develop professional knowledge and skills in arts and cultural management, marketing, finance and legal compliance, and at every stage of the course apply what they learn to industry practicums. The course has a strong focus on social and cultural sustainability, creativity and innovation, and emerging digital arts experiences. By engaging with corporate and community partners from diverse industry environments and workplaces, the course readies students for employment in a diverse range of positions within large and small companies, institutions and organisations, nationally and internationally.

Course learning outcomes
Apply broad discipline knowledge of the theories, principles and concepts of arts and cultural management to a range of theoretical and practical discipline situations.
Think critically to review, analyse, and synthesise complex arts and cultural management knowledge and problems to improve organisational practice.
Demonstrate initiative, judgement and creativity in planning, problem solving and decision making through project planning for arts and cultural organisations.
Use digital technologies and arts management related literacies to access, evaluate and synthesise relevant information from multiple sources.
Clearly, knowledgeably and coherently communicate arts and cultural management knowledge and ideas in diverse contexts and to diverse audiences.
Apply local, national and international perspectives to practice, showing respect for diversity and cultural respect when communicating and working with Aboriginal Australian and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
