General Arts and Science - English for Academic Purposes

In this program, English Language Learners (ELLs) develop English proficiency in the areas of reading, writing, speaking, grammar, vocabulary, and listening. Students also focus on essential skills for success and communication skills in various contexts. Language learning is facilitated through interactive activities, assignments, group work, multi-media materials and in-class instruction. Students explore Canadian social and cultural contexts, as well as personal, abstract and global topics. While most students choose English for Academic Purposes (EAP) as a pathway to further studies, some graduates of the program may find employment in occupations requiring English language proficiency. Graduates may transfer their acquired English language skills to career advancement and opportunities in other countries.
