Understanding cognition, which includes processes such as attention, perception, memory, reading and language, is one of the greatest scientific challenges of our time. As well as deciphering the workings of the healthy mind and brain, cognitive and brain scientists also investigate disorders such as anxiety, autism, dyslexia, post-traumatic stress, and schizophrenia.
The Bachelor of Cognitive and Brain Sciences – the only degree of its kind in Australia – will provide you with a strong foundation in the rapidly growing fields of cognitive science, neuroscience and computation, with an emphasis on building your critical-thinking and research skills in areas such as science communication, statistics and programming.
Participate in hands-on learning
Develop your research skills through active learning experiences, lab sessions and other research activities.
Gain research experience
Access leading human brain imaging and VR labs to complete intensive projects that will develop your competence as a researcher.
Learn from active researchers
Study in our Reading Clinic, Perception in Action Research Centre, Centre for Atypical Neurodevelopment and more.
Enhance your learning within our unique health precinct
Study within our health precinct, which includes behavioural, cognition and language acquisition laboratories and clinics.

Entry requirements for 麥考瑞大學
For students from overseas, Macquarie uses an international selection rank to determine the minimum eligibility requirement for each undergraduate course. This rank has been converted into equivalent scores for various recognised international high school qualifications and university entrance examinations, including global qualifications like the International Baccalaureate (IB) and GCE A-Levels.
All applicants for undergraduate coursework studies at Macquarie University are required to provide evidence of proficiency in English.
You may satisfy the English language requirements if you have completed:
senior secondary studies equivalent to the NSW HSC
one year of Australian or comparable tertiary study in a country of qualification
A recognised senior secondary school qualification or university entrance examination, such as the New South Wales Higher School Certificate (NSW HSC) or other equivalent Australian or overseas high school qualification
A recognised university Foundation course
A recognised 2 or 3-year Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree
At least one year of a university degree from a recognised institution
Entry to Macquarie University, as a guide the minimum score should be IELTS 6.5, TOEFL (ibt) 83.
English language requirements
