A brand-new Center for Media Arts, Computing and Design will provide a fantastic new home for the CBDT and the Computer Science Department, as well as supporting enhanced delivery of some programs from the Department of Visual and Performing Arts.

The building will act as a central hub for innovative new projects and interdisciplinary research efforts. State-of-the-art computer labs, virtual and augmented reality areas, robotics workshops and production studios are just some of the facilities students will find there.

Located just southeast of the Strassler Centre, it's close to the Goddard Library and offers easy connections to the rest of the university's buildings.

''Students will have a place to congregate with students from other disciplines, and I think that's probably the greatest feature of this New building,'' says Paul Cotnoir, dean of the Becker School.

Clark hopes to attain a LEED Gold certification for the building, with sustainable features and heating and cooling primarily provided through geothermal wells.
