Course and university guidance
Course selection and application
When you have many choices, deciding where and what to study and finding out how to apply for the best chance of acceptance can be difficult.
IDP’s counsellors are experts at understanding your study goals and finding the best course that matches your ambitions.
Our team can make the best choice for you. We have a sophisticated knowledge matching system that contains all the latest information on our 600 partner universities and institutions.
You can also browse different universities and track your application progress through the IDP Live app.
This help us guide you in the right direction.
Relatable and approachable
Our experienced counsellors understand your study goals.
In fact, many of our counsellors have themselves been international students, so they can answer all your questions.
Speak your preferred language
Our team is as diverse as our customers.
So if you prefer to speak your first language when you visit us, we would surely have someone on the team who can make you feel comfortable and understand you.
What should you expect?
When you first meet us, your counsellor will talk to you about:
- your education and experience, interests, timeline, budget and career or migration goals
- courses that match your needs
- the application process
- your visa and its match for your intentions
- upcoming information events that might be of interest to you.
Find your course
Submitting your study applications
We will supply the institution course application documents and institution programme guides, as well as compile your applications and certify supporting documents.
We will then take care of sending your application to your university or institution of choice.
You may be invited to meet education institution representatives who will assess your application and determine your eligibility for the course.
You may also have the opportunity to discuss course structures and graduate outcomes in our education seminars.
Response from the study provider
You will receive a response from the school or university within two to six weeks of your application being submitted.
When you are offered a place in a course, you will receive an offer letter.
In some cases, a representative of the school or university can assess your eligibility for the course and print an offer letter during your interview.
This would either be conducted at our office or one of IDP’s many international student events throughout the year.
Acceptance and payment
If there are no conditions on your offer letter, you may accept the offer immediately.
Examples of conditions that could be specified in the offer letter include supplying a new IELTS test result, an academic transcript of your recently completed study, or certified documents.
You can accept the offers at an IDP office, with a deposit being paid directly to the school or university that has made the offer.
Throughout the process, your counsellor will be with you to guide you and help make it easy.
If you have questions, we have answers. Chat with us and let us help you in your journey.
