I think Auckland is the best city for international students. Just from getting here, it's really convenient, it has an international airport, so it's really easy to travel into. It's also great because it's the biggest city in New Zealand. So there's lots of different foods. You'll find ethnic grocery stores and there's cuisines of all types from different restaurants. So you'll be able to find food that you like from home. There's so much to do and there's so many green spaces. It doesn't even feel like you're in the biggest city in the country. Look outside.

Which city in New Zealand is the best for international students, you ask? Well, I am biased and I work here at the University of Waikato, which is based on two amazing cities, Hamilton and total number one, based in the region of WildCattEr or the other in the Bay of Plenty.

Having visited university towns in New Zealand and around the world, I'd definitely say that Auckland is the best city in New Zealand for international students to study. AUT's main campus is based in Auckland City with everything international students need. Great accommodation options, part time work opportunities, great food and entertainment, lovely green spaces and fantastic beaches close by. Then as a graduate, Auckland as the business hub and the commercial capital of New Zealand.
