What IELTS score is required to study a master's degree in the UK?

It really depends. In my own experience, I got 6.5 and it was required to get at least six in each skills since I study TESOL here. But it really depends on the university itself, so it's better to double check. And also, don't forget to check your course as well.

Well, you will be required to get from six to six point five score in the IELTS exam and there are several courses, actually programs, that require seven score in the IELTS test, like the law, psychology and pharmacy courses, for example.

In the UK, at master's level, the general IELTS requirement is 6.5 overall, with no subskill less than 5.5. In some cases, universities may accept a bit less IELTS band that is overall six with no subskill less than 5. And in case of some specialist courses, for instance, BDC, universities require higher IELTS band and that can be 7 or 7.5.

Maybe different IELTS requirements for different masters in the U.K., so, for example, Leeds Beckett, we ask for 6.0 overall and no skill below 5.5 for most of our masters. But some have a higher requirement, such as health programs, public relations. So check with your chosen university and the particular class.
