In the UK, master's degrees are more compact and intense. It also depends on the type of course you're enrolled in. It will help international students to save their money and time and at the same time, they can gain a world-class education. So one year, it will be divided into two: nine months of coursework and three months of dissertation.

Hi, guys, Selma from Coventry University, London. Why does a Masters only take one year? Really good question. In the U.K., we do a three year undergraduate degree, followed by a one year masters, and that's because we specialize right from the beginning. So if you do, for example, a master's in management, then from day one in your masters, you will deep dive into those management critical modules and the skills. If you do a work placement, of course, it can be added on and then it might be two years.
